MACHINE READABLE
PASSPORT (MRP) RENEWAL IN POHNPEI [Posted
2009.July.03]
UFCP is now accepting Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
applications for renewal. Blank application forms may be obtained from
any UFCP officer, or you can download and print the form. [DOWNOLAD FORM]
CHECKLIST OF DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT
- Application form, duly accomplished and
notarized (FREE notary at Pohnpei Supreme Court and Micronesian Legal
Service)
- Passport pictures (size 1.77 x 1.37 inches,
blue background, preferably matte photo paper), 3 pieces*
- Xerox copies of your current passport (first
and last pages only), 2 copies
SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS to the UFCP officers named below on
or before July 17, 2009
with your payment of:
- $50 - Passport renewal fee
- $2 - three (3) times shipping at CTSI
- $3 - three (3) pcs. Passport Pictures

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN KOROR ISSUES ADVISORY
BY THE END OF 2010, all United Nations Member countries will
have to comply with the requirement of International Civil Aviation
Organization which is: ALL PASSPORTS MUST BE Machine Readable Passports
(MRP) or e-Passports.
To apply for an MRP requires personal appearance of the applicant.
The e-passport will be introduced soon.

- Personal appearance is a requirement for the MRP
- The Philippine Embassy in Palau will only be in Pohnpei ONCE, in early September 2009 (see details below).
- Everyone is advised to grab this opportunity.
LETTER OF PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN PALAU TO UFCP PRESIDENT
Dear Gerry,
Regarding your request for a Passport Mobile Team from the Philippine
Embassy in Koror, Palau to conduct passport processing in Pohnpei, FSM
for the Machine Readable Passport, we wish to inform you that the
Embassy is sending the Team tentatively on the first week of September
2009, after the registration of Overseas Absentee Voters which will be
ended on 31 August 2009. The Embassy is still awaiting approval
and authority from the Department. Most probably, we will be
authorized only for a limited period of time (about 5 to 7 days).
In this regard, we wish to inform you of the Embassy's Plan on the Passport Mobile Team's
Schedule of Activities:
A. BEFORE THE PASSPORT MOBILE TEAM PROCEED TO POHNPEI:
- Request all applicants to submit their duly accomplished and
notarized passport application forms (Note: Make sure Application Forms
are complete and with ACCURATE DATA) to the Embassy with three (3)
pictures – blue background (see attached guidelines for MRP
Photo) together with their payment of US$50, processing and encoding.
- Upon receipt, the Team will process the applicant's passport application forms and
if found complete, the Team will encode the applicant's required
personal data for the production of the applicant's passport COMPUTED
GENERATED FORMS which will be brought by the Team in Pohnpei, FSM, for
signature, thumb mark and confirmation of entries by the applicant.
- Payment of the required fees to the Finance Officer.
- The Team will proceed to Pohnpei after the required number of quota of at least 500 applicants is reached.
B. TEAM WILL PROCEED TO POHNPEI:
- Team will distribute the official receipt of payment for the
passport to the applicant and at the same time have the applicant's
confirmation of entry in the Computer Generated Forms (CGF), if ALL
ENTRIES are correct, have the applicant's signature and thumb mark in
the CGF to be transmitted to the Office of Consular Affairs. DFA,
Manila.
- After the completion of the mission, the Team will return back to
Palau bringing with them the duly confirmed, signed and thumb marked
Computer Generated Forms (CGF) by the respective applicant.
- Upon arrival in Palau, the Team will transmit the CGF to Manila through Diplomatic Pouch.
- Upon receipt of the Machine Readable Passport, the Embassy will
inform the applicant and advise him/her to submit his old passport for
cancellation together with the payment to CTSI for the resending of the
cancelled old passport and the new Machine Readable Passport of the
applicant.
